Masons of Kentucky
⎯ ABOUT THE COMPANY
A Lexington KY Masonry Company Built on Tradition
Three decades of hand-laid brick, plumb stone, and chimneys that ouutlive their builders. This is who we are and how we work.
⎯ OUR STORY
Built on the Cornerstone of Faith
Masons of Kentucky was founded in 2018 on a simple idea - that quiet, careful work still matters. For more than thirty years the owner has laid limestone, brick, and lime mortar across the Bluegrass to the same standard that was learned from the masters who taught him: plumb, level, tight, and true.
We are a family-led, faith rooted company. Faith shapes how we treat clients, how we treat the crews on the wall, and how we approach the work itself - with integrity in the places no one will ever see. The mortar behind a chimney chase. The flashing tucked beneath the slate. The back side of a limestone retaining wall. All of it gets the same care as the face.
We work on federal-era farmhouses, 19th-century churches, horse country estates, downtown commercial facades, and family homes. Different architecture, same discipline.
⎯ THE FOUNDER
Christopher Bayne
⎯ MASTER MASON - OWNER
Christopher grew up in Kentucky watching masonry done the old way - patient, prayerful, and respectful of buildings that had already stood for a century. He apprenticed along side masons who treated every mortar joint as a small act of stewardship, and he built Masons of Kentucky around the same conviction.
Three decades later, he still walks every property himself before the first stone is set. Whether it's a Federal-era chimney on a Bourbon County farmhouse or a creek-stone hearth in a young family's first home, the standard does not change: do it right the first time, leave it stronger than you found it, and honor the craft.
He answers his phone. He writes his own estimates. And most days, he is the first one on the wall.
"Faith built this company. Craftsmanship keeps it standing"
⎯ HOW WE WORK
A method, not a slogan.
Honest Assessment
We walk the property, photograph what matters, and quote only the work the masonry actually needs. We'd rather lose a job than oversell one.
⎯
⎯
Period-Correct Materials
Lime mortar for pre-1920 work. Type-N or Type-S where strength governs. Kentucky limestone, reclaimed brick within a forty-mile radius when the wall calls for a match.
⎯
⎯
What the Wall Hides
Frost-depth footings, weep holes, stainless ties, copper flashing soldered at the transitions. The parts you'll never see are the reasons it last.
Quiet on the Property
Landscaping protected, walkways swept day's end, soft music on the wall. We work the way we'd want a crew to work at our own home.
